  Professional growth is often associated with doing more—taking on new responsibilities, pursuing promotions, building expertise, and constantly moving forward. But sometimes, moving forward requires a pause. This was the thinking behind “Refresh & Refocus,” a three-day seminar jointly organised by CedarRise Initiative for Human Development and Women in Leadership and Law (WILL) for female lawyers in Enugu. Held from August 26–28, 2024, at Nike Lake Resort Hotel , the seminar created space for participants to step away from the demands of their professional lives and take stock of where they were, where they wanted to go, and what they needed to get there. How Education, Skills and Health Came Together in Awlaw

  A community does not become stronger by addressing only one of its needs. A child needs access to education. A teacher needs the tools to teach well. A woman needs opportunities to earn. A parent needs access to reliable health information and care. These needs may appear separate, but in a community, they are deeply connected. This was the thinking behind Building Strong Foundations , a five-day community outreach organised by CedarRise Initiative for Human Development in Awlaw, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, from June 14 to 18, 2024. The outreach brought together children, teachers, women, families, health professionals, community leaders, and volunteers around one shared goal: creating opportunities for people to learn, grow, and thrive.
